Issue 286 – Frome Amateur Operatic Society Bristol Evening Post Rose Bowl Awards 2009

FROME Amateur Operatic Society has won the Coup de Theatre Award for the finale of Mack and Mabel. Members of FAOS attended a glittering dinner to join with 400 other guests from around the South West for the 2009 Bristol Evening Post Rose Bowl Awards, at Weston Super Mare’s Pavilion on Sunday 18th October.

FAOS was also nominated for Best Review/Pantomime for Mother Goose, and Best Youth Production for 42nd Street.
This is only the second year that FAOS has entered this competition and they are delighted to have increased their nominations from one last year to three this year and of course to have won a category for the first time. The overall winner of Best Musical Production went to Taunton AOS for their production of Grand Hotel directed by Scott St. Martin, who by coincidence has been booked to direct Frome’s next production of Annie next May.
