Issue 289 – Return your draw tickets please! says Memorial Theatre

With just four weeks to go before the Memorial Theatre’s ‘Broadway Bonanza’ draw, whereby two lucky people will be receiving their prize of a trip to see a show on Broadway, New York, the fundraising team are making an urgent appeal for the outstanding raffle draw tickets to be returned.

The highly successful ‘Bonanza Draw’ has been running for the last three months or more specifically to raise monies for a new lighting board for community performing groups using the theatre, and is due to be drawn at the end of the panto season on 2nd January.
“We have been highly delighted by the response from the public to this latest appeal, and are confident of raising most of the money we need to replace our ancient lighting equipment, which can no longer be repaired” says Derek Trick, fundraising project leader
“The prizes are really the best on offer anywhere in the town, with tickets for two to New York, a nice hotel and a show of the winner’s choice on Broadway. Even second prize, for two people to see a West End show in London with overnight hotel, is well worth sporting a pound for a draw ticket. Tickets will be on sale every show night right up to the end of the year, but we are making the appeal for many outstanding books circulating with our members and friends to be returned to the Theatre before Christmas.”
Anyone wanting raffle tickets can obtain them from the trustees or stewards of the Theatre, or by telephoning 01373 471607. The draw will take place, on stage, on the last night of the FAOS, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs panto.
