Issue 297 – Lions Club of Frome charity golf day

The Lions Club of Frome has presented a cheque for £2,200 to their preferred charity ‘Hope for Tomorrow’.

Representing the charity is one of their patrons, lady MacLaurin, and Christine Mills, the founder.
The charity has the aims and objectives of relieving some of the stress and anxiety of patients who have to have regular courses of chemotherapy. Usually this requires long journeys to the nearest hospital with an oncology unit plus hours of waiting and treatment before the journey home.
Hope for Tomorrow is kitting out articulated lorries with equipment and staff to enable them to visit communities away from the hospitals and administer the treatment. It relieves stress on the patient and relatives and gives them time to relax and not worry about getting to the hospital. Visit their web site at www. for a fuller picture of the tremendous work they do.
The Lions Charity Golf Day on the 24th September at Orchardleigh Golf Club will again support the wonderful charity, and help to spread the use of these vehicles over a wider area. The Lions Club and the charity thank Orchardleigh Golf Club management for their great support and encouragement in our fund raising – and look forward to a successful and fruitful 24th September.
