Issue 327 – What do you want from the park?

PEOPLE in Frome have been invited to give their ideas on what they want from the park and neighbouring green spaces in the Welshmill area.

The town council and FROGS (Frome Recreation and Open Grounds Supporters) are working together to try and obtain lottery funding to the tune of £50,000 to improve the recreational spaces – and are delighted that they have already been successful in the first stage of the application.
Ideas already suggested for the area include a bike track and general play equipment alongside many other options.
The town council has already been working to ensure all the play equipment is in safe and proper working order, and the most recent step has been to repaint the equipment to brighten up the park.
Frome Town Council’s grounds & properties manager Simon Woollen said, “We’re trying to raise money from the lottery to get new play equipment in Welshmill. It’s a project FROGS came to the town council with and it’s going to be a joint project – not just with FROGS but we want to involve schools and all those who use the playground. So far we’ve got through the first hurdle which we’re delighted with!”
The next part of the bid is set for September this year.
