Issue 346 – Mayor’s charity ball set for May

THE MAYOR of Frome is set to host a charity black and white ball to raise funds for his chosen mayoral charities.
The ball will feature a fourcourse meal, courtesy of the Cornerhouse, as well as a string quartet to set the tone of the evening, which will take place at Rook Lane Chapel on Friday 4th of May at 7.00pm.

Mayor of Frome cllr Nick White said, “It’s looking to be an excellent evening. So far, there are two bands confirmed to play on the evening, with a string quartet set to greet people as they arrive.
“It will be held at Rook Lane Chapel, a great venue for this style of event!”
Funds on the night will go towards the mayor’s chosen charities, which include Frome Town Youth Band, Frome & District Day Care Centre and Frome Carnival Club.
Cllr Nick White said, “At the start of my term in office I wanted to raise £1,000 each for these charities; this event is a good chance to push towards this target.”
Tickets will be on sale from mid-March and will be available from Frome Town Council’s Palmer Street office.
The mayor is also set to host a charity pub crawl, a series of week-long events in Frome’s pubs starting on Monday 9th of April, which will culminate in a 23-stop pub crawl on Saturday 14th of April.
