Local BBC news reporter Sarah-Jane Bungay visited her former school, Selwood Academy, to help promote the minibus appeal.
After spending four happy years at Selwood, Sarah-Jane was keen to tour the school to see all of the changes and improvements. She spent time with year 8 telling them about her career path and answering their questions.Selwood United PTA is busy raising money to purchase a minibus in September to replace the old bus. “A minibus provides more opportunities for school trips and sports fixtures,” says the PTA.A grand auction is being organised for Friday 25th May. Together with a tour for two of the BBC Bristol newsroom and watch the lunchtime programme, donated by Sarah-Jane, there is also a tour for four of the McLaren Technology Centre donated by Jenson Button, Bath RFC and Northampton Saints signed rugby shirts, a signed Padraig Harrington golf glove and a glider flight. The Selwood United PTA is busy encouraging donations to expand the auction catalogue.
