Inner Wheel cheque presentations

THE Inner Wheel Club of Frome held a very successful fashion show at the Assembly Rooms when ‘Ribbons’ of Westbury presented a wonderful selection of their summer fashions, together with a selection of hats and fascinators on the 27th April.

This very successful event raised a total of £1,400 for the British Heart Foundation and Gill Barnes, club president, was proud to present a cheque for this sum to John Osborne, chairman of the Frome Branch of the charity on Tuesday 19th June.

In January, Frome Inner Wheel held a World Inner Wheel Day Dinner at Standerwick at which a cheque for £100 was presented to the after dinner speaker Lysbeth Ballantine for Save the Children.

An afternoon tea party was held at Chapmanslade on the 6th May by De Barnes and Gwen Barnard and they were proud to present another cheque for the grand sum of £584.00 to Angela Daniel of Frome Branch of Save the Children.

Last November the ladies of Inner Wheel received an interesting and thought provoking speech by Sandra Elmer who spoke on the subject of bereavement counselling for the charity Cruse. A cheque for £200 was presented by Margaret Holmes to Sandra for Cruse.

Coming to the end of a very successful year under the chairmanship of Gill Barnes, Frome Inner Wheel has donated over £6,400 during her year to these and a variety of other different charities, local, national and overseas.
