Sam gives up treats for PAC

LOCAL schoolboy, Sam Fordham, has just completed two weeks without sweets, chocolate, crisps and biscuits in support of local charity, Positive Action on Cancer.

During this time Sam asked friends and family for sponsorship and raised a total of £72 for the charity.

In 2011 Sam’s family were all supported by PAC during his uncle’s illness and after he died.  As a family they have since been dedicated to fundraising for PAC.  Monday 16th July marked one year since Sam’s uncle, Tony Fordham died and Sam decided he wanted to mark this by taking on the challenge of giving up treats.  Sam decided to go a whole two weeks without any of his favourites.

Kelly Hall, fundraiser at PAC said, “It was lovely to hear that Sam wanted to do his own fundraising challenge for PAC.  He has done so well to go for two weeks without any treats and we were delighted to hear that he raised £72.  Well done to Sam and thank you to everyone who sponsored him.”

PAC is currently the only organisation to offer free professional counselling to any adults or children affected or bereaved by cancer and other life threatening illnesses in BANES, Somerset and West Wilts.  If you would like further information about counselling, the work of the charity or fundraising please contact Karen Dufton, administrator at PAC on 01373 455255 or info@positiveactiononcancer.co.uk
