Rockin’ first Blues Festival is a huge hit

THE first Frome Blues Festival has been hailed a resounding success, with plans announced immediately for a 2013 festival and tickets for next year’s event already on sale.
Over 400 people packed out the Cheese and Grain to watch some of the finest blues musicians perform on Sunday 21st of October.
The festival pulled together some of the biggest names from the blues music circuit including Eddie Martin, Jo Harman, Laurence Jones and Stan Webb’s Chickenshack.
The event was organised by Jan Ayres who also put on the Frome Folk Festival earlier this year as well as the Bristol Folk Festival. She said, “We are delighted with the turn out and reaction. The atmosphere in the Cheese and Grain was fantastic.
“The festival really was one for all ages to attend. The music was outstanding. Some of the artists had included the festival as part of their international tours.
“We had a lot of younger people at the festival, so next year we will introduce concession tickets too.
“The Cornerhouse and The Griffin put on some great fringe events too.
“I must thank the people of Frome for turning up, it was brilliant.
“What we do for next year is that the festival will have even bigger names to it. We’re all very excited about it.”
Early-bird tickets are already on sale for the 2013 event, which has been confirmed for Sunday 27th of October at the Cheese and Grain. You can order tickets from the Cheese and Grain box office on 01373 455420.
Tickets cost £22 or £18 for concessions.
