Nursery raises £2,362 in memory of Joshua

BRIGHT Stars Childcare has presented cheques totalling £2,362 to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at  Bath Royal United Hospital, as well as the hospital’s charitable fund for the children’s ward, in memory of Joshua Sweet.

Joshua’s parents and nursery staff presented the cheques to Beverley Boyd, matron of the children’s ward, last week.

A total of £3,150 has been raised from a series of fundraising activities and events, including a big fundraiser at the day nursery on Saturday 9th March. In addition to the cheques for  Bath RUH, money raised will be used to buy a wooden train for children at the nursery to use.

Joshua Sweet, a happy, giggly and inspiring little boy, suffered from cerebral palsy and lost his life in October 2012, at the age of two years and nine months. He attended Bright Stars for almost two years, and the nursery says he  had an amazing impact on both the team and fellow children.
