Have your say on the future of housing in Frome with Kevin McCloud

Frome Town Council invites you to join guest speaker Kevin McCloud to discuss the future of Frome’s housing on Monday 30th September at 6.45pm at Rook Lane Chapel in Bath Street.

Jane Llewellyn, on behalf of Frome Town Council said, “The emerging Neighbourhood Plan requires us to think about how we develop our town in the future.  Local people have already said that they want future housing to be more affordable, sustainable and better integrated into the community.

“Do self-build or community-led housing models offer us a better solution?  At this event, we will present some of the options, discuss their relative benefits and consider which may be applicable to Frome.”

Kevin McCloud, best known for presenting Channel 4’s BAFTA-nominated ‘Grand Designs’ admits to having an unhealthy obsession for buildings since childhood. His extensive travels and broadcasting experience have given him an insight into models of house building around the world

Kevin is an Honorary Fellow of the RIBA and patron of a handful of organisations, including the World Monuments Fund.  His two ambitions remain to entertain and to make the built environment better – and consequently ‘make people feel better’.

Jane added, “Please come and join us in this debate.”

Tickets are £6 or £3 for concessions and can be purchased through Event-brite  at www.housingour uk or at Frome Information Centre in the library.
