The chefs at the Full Moon.
New head chef Derek McLean had been in the job for just five weeks when AA inspectors visited the Full Moon at Rudge.
One of the hardships of life as an inspector is having to eat a three course meal at every establishment visited, but they nobly struggled on and enjoyed the food so much that they awarded the pub a coveted AA Dinner Award.
The inspectors chose a proper chicken and ham pie, and a beef shin and oxtail burger, followed by sticky toffee pudding, and still managed a full English breakfast the next morning.
Owners Chris and Anne Taylor were over the moon with the award, and said that the Full Moon would be using more locally sourced ingredients, with the menu featuring seasonal dishes changing weekly as well as the home made pub classics for which the restaurant is already known.
