A FROME care home recently hosted a Great British Bake Off-style competition for the local cubs.

Muffin-mad youngsters from the 10th Frome Cubs headed down to Rossetti House to compete for star baker as part of their Community Challenge Badge.

The home’s residents stood in for BBC stars Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood to judge the bakes on show and crowned ‘White Six’ the winners with their delicious pineapple and coconut buns.

Alex Chalmers, a member of the cub pack said, “It was lots of fun baking the muffins, and I really enjoyed meeting and chatting to some of the residents – I hope they liked them as much as we did!”

Mark Barnes, home manager said, “It was fantastic to have the cubs visit us at Rossetti House and make some cakes for us to all to enjoy.

“Rossetti House has really caught Bake Off fever and many of our residents love baking, it’s a great way for the young and old to spend time together.”

To achieve the Community Challenge Badge the cubs must do a variety of activities to serve their local community, from fundraising to volunteering.
