Frome Mayor Dickon Moore will ride to Chateau Gontier.
The Mayor of Frome, cllr Dickon Moore, is to cycle from Frome to twin town Château-Gontier in France, to help raise funds for his local charities.
The 4-day ride will begin on 14th April, passing through Portsmouth and St Malo, with the longest day being the 100-mile ride from St Malo to Château-Gontier. He will be joined by other Frome cyclists, including David Herbert, the father of the Mayoress. Residents and officials in the twin town will welcome the group upon arrival.
Dickon said, “Cycling is one of the key ways to achieve an active lifestyle, something that I am keen to promote. I thought it might be useful to try and raise some funds at the same time! I have heard that Château-Gontier is a beautiful place so I am looking forward to seeing it.”
You can sponsor the ride by emailing mayoroffrome @gmail.com or calling 07811 440584. All funds go towards the mayor’s charities, which are FROGS, Openstorytellers and Friends of the River Frome.
