This year’s colourful Frome Festival brochure, designed by Sholto Walker, depicts the Frome town skyline including the steeple of St John’s.
It commemorates the centenary of WWI – Fields of poppies, and a line from Siegfried Sassoon “I’ve looked … Bright roofs and towers of town I’ve seen, And starts wheeling through wingless night. I’ve looked and my soul yet longs for light” all beneath a vivid orange and yellow sunrise.
The Frome Festival, now in its 14th year, is a community Arts festival which will run for 10 days from the 4th-13th July, incorporating two weekends, with events to suit all ages, tastes and pockets.
You can search under ‘Line-Up’ on the Frome Festival website: www.frome festival.co.uk, and search by event, date, venue or category i.e. (Children & Family/Workshop/Free/Comedy etc…) … and the question that everyone is asking is: “How and where do I book my tickets?”
Frome Festival tickets are now on sale to the general public, in person only, at the Frome Festival box office at the Cheese and Grain (tel: 01373 455420). Festival Friends have priority booking. You can become a friend for £20 at www.fromefestival.co.uk/frome-festival-friends
Many events are free and do not require booking at box office. Please check brochure (available at Frome Library, TIC, Cheese & Grain, many shops, cafes …) or online www.fromefestival.co.uk/ line-up. Some festival events which are held at the main venues can also be booked online through the venues. www.cheese andgrain.com; www.frome memorialtheatre.org.uk; www.merlintheatre.co.uk; www.cooperhall.org.
