‘End of the Summer Party’ at the Cheese & Grain

Come along to the Cheese & Grain on Saturday 30th August for a night of live music with four young bands.

The Cheese and Grain are always keen to promote musicians from the West Country and also up and coming bands, so have put together an evening of live music along with a barbecue on the terrace to see out the end of August in style!

Young Brando – It’s almost unheard of that a band’s first show would be supporting international superstars such as McFly, however that’s the position Salisbury based Young Brando found themselves in 2013.

And they must have made a good impression as they were quickly invited to support the pop rock super group McBusted on their arena tour earlier this summer; playing sold out shows all over the country to sold out shows that most bands could only dream of playing, giving the band a huge fan base before they had even recorded their debut album.

The band is now currently locked away in the studio to record their now massively anticipated debut album and will only be playing a few select live shows over the summer.

Young Brando members said, “Our band could optimistically be described as take the guitar sounds and rhythms of 90’s alt rock bands and throwing them together with the melodies and joy of early 00’s pop punk. It is sometimes sweet and sometimes moody but we try to make sure it doesn’t get saccharine or depressing.”

Too Much Lipstick – Last seen in Frome supporting The Beat, Too Much Lipstick are five lads joined together by their love of music and excessive make up. They’ve got more pop & stomp than Godzilla walking over an ice cream van. But fear not, as Too Much Lipstick will not spray you with atoms of foundation but dazzle with their boyish charms, heart throbbing lyrics and delightful mix of  fast paced, pumping anthemic sound.

The Refusal – The Refusal are a four-piece band hailing from Bath, who have been playing live and recording since early 2008.

With a hugely diverse range of influences, the four members channel their love of traditional ska, hard rock, new wave, indie and punk into songs about space travel and revenge. Currently gigging material from their forthcoming album, the live show guarantees crunching riffs, soaring melodies, amazing live horns and the quirkiest choice of covers this side of anywhere.

Live Renditions – A collaboration between a drummer and a DJ who are mashing tracks from every genre giving you a new type of live experience. This Somerset duo will certainly impress with their skills!
