Stay connected host annual charity cricket match

PAYMAN.CO.UK, a payroll management service fromFrome, recently held their annual charity cricket match to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research.

James Parsons, the company secretary said, “We started a little later than advertised due to a bit of rain, but the Frome Area Christians Together team batted first and made 190 runs from their 30 overs.

“After a stupendous tea, including Mrs Parsons’ jam and cream scones, there was a slight delay due to another shower.  However, the Payman team, which included several Frome Cricket Club team members, soon began the chase.

“After about a dozen overs, a heavy but short-lived downpour delayed play again.

“After Payman’s 29 overs and five balls, four runs were needed from the last ball. Two were quickly run and the throw to the keeper missed, but a total three runs resulted in a tied match.”

The day raised £628.97, bringing their total fundraising so far to £875.
