Pop-Up Bookshop for PAC

PAC (Positive Action on Cancer) will, once again, open its pop-up bookshop to the local community for the month of October, commencing on Wednesday 1st.

The bookshop, which will be open in the Westway Precinct every Wednesday and Saturday in October, 10.00am – 4.00pm (plus a few extra days wherever feasible) will be packed with books, both pre-loved and new at prices starting from 50p.

PAC receives a donation of brand new books from Paragon Books which provides customers with a great selection of highly discounted books to kick start some early Christmas shopping whilst raising money for a good cause.

The PAC pop-up bookshop is always a great success and is widely supported by the local community. It provides the local charity with essential income and the last two events raised the organisation a brilliant £4000.

PAC is looking for volunteers who might like to join in the fun and help in the shop while it’s open. The more volunteers the organisation has the more it can open the shop and the more money the organisation can raise. PAC is also looking for more good quality book donations that can be delivered to the empty retail unit (next to the Co-op) from Monday 29th September. If you can spare a few hours or would like to donate some books then please contact Kelly on 01373 455255.

PAC’s fundraising assistant, Kelly Lewis said, “The local community always support us when we do this bookshop event and it really does provide us with a great source of income. We’d love some more volunteers to come and join us throughout the month even if it’s just for an hour here or there. We look forward to seeing you all there.”

PAC provides professional counselling support for cancer patients and their families through what can be the most challenging time in their life. PAC’s clients say that the service, the only one of its kind in Somerset, West Wiltshire and Bath, provides a lifeline through their darkest days.

If you would like further information about counselling, the work of the charity or fundraising please contact Karen Dufton, PAC’s office manager on 01373 455255 or email  info@positiveaction oncancer.co.uk
