From the beginning of this month, Fair Frome will be supplying food bank parcels to local residents, and have been supported by Barclays Bank to start their community fundraising programme.

Frome branch of Barclays matched funded £1000 at the charity’s launch event of the Food Bank initiative on the 22nd July. The total amount raised was £2200.

Sally Gay, Barclays branch manager said, “We’re delighted with the amount raised and would like to thank all the attendees who supported the evening. We really wanted to support Fair Frome in the work they do in the area.

“Barclays has a fantastic community investment programme that encourage employees to get involved in the charities and causes that are important to them. It’s about giving back our skills, time, and energy to support our local communities.”

Nikki Cox, operations manager for Fair Frome said, “Thanks to Barclays and many other organisations, funding will support Fair Frome to start a Frome Food Bank to enable people in the community to access food parcels when needed.

“We are very grateful to the employees at Barclays for their fantastic efforts and support in attending our launch event. The money raised really will make a big difference to people’s lives.”
