Funeral For A Friend Christmas gig at the Cheese & Grain

The Cheese & Grain and Hit Or Miss shows are proud to present Funeral For A Friend’s Christmas party 2014 on Friday 19th December.

The Welsh rock band picked Frome as the destination for their final show of the year, a special one off event before the release of their new album ‘Chapter and Verse’ in January.

Over the course of well over a decade, Funeral For A Friend has changed British rock music forever. A bold, brave, yet undeniably true statement. The band’s journey from DIY shows in Bridgend to major label records, headlining festivals and worldwide sold out tours has built a long and prosperous road that many home-grown bands from across the alternative spectrum have been travelling along ever since.

They lead the post-hardcore revolution with their energetic blend of emo and metal, and although they’ve been through a few changes, both musically and with their line up, over the 12 (yes, 12) years since breaking out of Wales in 2002, they remain a firm favourite amongst fans.

Funeral for a Friend’s popularity rose in the United Kingdom with the release of their debut album, ‘Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation’ (2003). Achieving both a gold certification and three top 20 singles, ‘Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation’ is often acclaimed as one of the landmark records of the 2000s.

The band would go on to headline arena shows and festivals the world over, to date they have released five more records and fully cemented their place among the elite of modern day rock music.

Support on the night comes from Bath pop punk group Decade who have had a break out year with the release of their debut album ‘Good luck’ at the start of the year. Which lead to major tours and festivals all year long culminating in supporting on the sold out ‘A Day To Remember’ tour in November. They are joined by up and coming skate punk band Giants who were hand picked by FFAF to support them.

Following the show the venue will host a free after party for all gig attendees until 2.00am with special live guests Portsmouth’s Midday Committee and local favourites Nathan Detroit as well as a Hit Or Miss DJ set.
