Come & watch Frome Town and pay what you want!

FROME Town Football Club is inviting fans to pay an entrance fee of their own choosing in a bid to get over 500 supporters through the turnstiles at their next home game.

The project called ‘Operation 500’ will see fans get the chance to watch the Robins in action against Hungerford Town on Saturday 7th March for however much they want to pay.

Frome’s biggest gate of the season came on Boxing Day when 302 people saw the Robins lose 1-0 to table-toppers Poole Town. However, the  average attendance this season has been 188.

The Robins are currently fighting a relegation battle and, as the season draws to a close, the need for vital points increases. It is hoped the expected increased support will give the players a boost.

Club managing director Ian Pearce said, “This is the first time the club is literally opening its doors to the community of Frome and beyond, so help us spread the word and achieve our goal of getting 500 through the turnstiles. At the same time, give Fozzy  (manager, Adrian Foster) and the squad a further boost with a bigger crowd cheering them on.

“The club will also be calling on their youth and ladies’ sections to help boost the gate on the day and encourage as many friends and family members to come and experience a match day at Frome Town.

“Of course we would also be delighted for people to pay the normal admission charges to continue to help the club.”
