Many charity shops in Frome have teamed up with Mayor Peter Macfadyen for the event.
TICKETS are set to go on sale for the Mayor’s Charity Bash which will have a unique colourful twist this year.
Mayor Peter Macfadyen will host the charity bash and is inviting those that attend to wear colourful clothes bought from the town’s charity shops with prizes for those dressed the most outstanding.
Tickets go on sale in the Cheese and Grain from Monday 23rd March with the bash taking place on Friday 17th April.
The evening will include at least four local bands, local food, a raffle and much more. All proceeds will go to the three mayoral charities – Fair Frome (who run the town’s foodbank); POD Youth Club (which provides activity for challenging children and time off for their parents); and Edventure Frome (which provides free apprenticeships).
Cllr Macfadyen said, “It will be a special evening and a chance to highlight the importance of ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ over the last year. Frome’s fantastic array of charity shops capture this perfectly so the charity dress-up should be good fun, whilst bringing in money for local and national charities who have built a great network of local volunteers.
“All the town’s charity shops are involved in some way so put the date in your diary and support some great causes whilst having fun.”
From Tuesday 17th March every charity shop in Frome will have a special rail of selected colourful clothes to wear at the bash and beyond.
