Guy’s magical return to the stage at the Merlin

An ex-Frome College student returns to the town in his first professional stage role on Sunday 31st May at 3.00pm when Illyria present ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’.

Guy Freeman is the son of ex-Frome College Director of Media Arts and Assistant Principal John Freeman and recently graduated from Italia Conti School in London.

‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ is the original boy-wizard story, most famously told in Disney’s ‘Fantasia’, starring Mickey Mouse.

Bored with his chores, the apprentice waves his wand and… Whoooooosh! A broom magically starts to fetch water for him. But he can’t find a spell to stop it. In desperation he saws it in half – and everything spirals out of control.

This show features breathtaking magical illusions, non-stop laughter and more water than you have EVER seen in a play before! There’s a spectacular set from the designer of ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’, amazing effects from the scenic builders of ‘The Twits’, the original music by Paul Dukas (as used in ‘Fantasia’) – and eye-popping magical illusions designed by the world famous illusionist Paul Daniels.

Exciting, magical family fun for all ages over four.  The show is on ECOS if fine, so let’s hope they can magic up some good weather!  Bring cushions and a picnic!

Tickets: adults £14, concessions £9, Running time 90 mins plus interval. – tel: 01373 465949.
