New President for Lions Club

The Lions Club of Frome President for the new lionistic year is Clive Smith.

Clive formally took over from Mark Symes at the club’s annual handover dinner at the Fox & Hounds.

Following an excellent meal, Mark thanked the club for its support in his year and detailed some of the highlights in which he was pleased to have been involved. A sum in excess of £35,000 has been raised and donated to good causes.

Following the formal presentation of the presidential chain, Clive thanked Mark for his year in office and looked forward to his own time as president.

Clive is retired, having spent a career in the police force and latterly working for the local authority. He is married to Val and enjoys spending time with his family, which includes two granddaughters.

He has a wide selection of hobbies, including bowls and golf, coupled with an armchair sports enthusiast.

This will be Clive’s second time as president, and the club extends its best wishes to him.
