Rockabella Rhythm & Blues Club

Following the successful inaugural gig in March, which was a complete sell-out, Rockabella Rhythm & Blues Club are pleased to announce their next gig.

This will take place again at Beckington Memorial Hall, near Frome, on Saturday 15th August, and the Club are delighted that the gig will be headlined by The Innes Sibun Band.

His first band the ‘Blues Explosion’ recorded the album ‘That’s What The Blues Can Do’ with the legendary Mike Vernon (Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac) in the producers seat. In 1993 Innes was asked to join Robert Plant’s band for his ‘Fate of Nations’ tour. During the U.S. dates Innes was able to meet and play with many of his blues heroes like Buddy Guy and James Cotton in Chicago, he also jammed at Antones blues club in Austin Texas with Tommy Shannon, Chris Layton, Chris Duarte and many other legends of the Austin blues scene.

Innes’ band has toured the UK & Europe with ‘Wild Child’ Butler, Jay Owens, Jesse ‘Guitar’ Taylor and Johnny Adams as well as opening up for Joe Louis Walker, Ronnie Earl, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Walter Trout, The Blues Band, Boy George, Nine Below Zero as well as the Moody Marsden Band.

Following the tour with Robert Plant, Innes made several albums for Viceroy records, ‘Superstitious’ and ‘Honeypot’ with his new band, they toured throughout Europe and opened up for Peter Green in New York as well as touring Europe with Roger Chapman and Chris Farlowe.

Recently the band has played tours of Germany, France, the UK and the Netherlands as well as festivals in France, Spain and the UK in April.  The band have recently returned to the UK after featuring at the Dallas International Guitar Festival.

Support for the gig will be provided by Bob Bowles.

Bob Bowles is known throughout the South West of England for his bluesy guitar playing and his soulful voice.  Bob’s guitar playing evokes the blues greats such as Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Green and Eric Clapton. Like these greats he celebrates musical tradition, honouring those with his own heartfelt writing and electrifying shows.

Bob writes and performs his own songs, with his varied set including covers of Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Van Morrison and many more.  Bob has recorded with many great musicians such as Jamie Cullum and the late Kev Wilkinson (drums), who were both members of his live band.

He has also worked with band members of Gary Moore, Duke Special, Jethro Tull, John Mayall, Van Morrison, Bad Company, Manfred Mann, Yardbirds, Kinks, Jools Holland, Steve Marriot band and The Waterboys.

He has played support to Ben E King, Suzi Quatro, Eric Bibb, The Commitments, Chicken Shack, The Blues Band and Otis Grand. He has also performed with John Martyn, Eddie Martin and Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges.
