Home-grown Frome talent is set to take Edinburgh Fringe Festival by storm!

‘Step in the Dark’, a newly formed Frome based theatre company, is all set to travel to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this week to present a murder thriller.

Step in the Dark’s show, ‘Rope’, is based on a real life murder case has already caused a stir in the Scottish national press.

The site- specific piece came to the attention of the Scottish press because the play is referenced to a murder committed by two Edinburgh school-boys.

The audience follows the journey of the boys, through the streets of Edinburgh, as they attempt to commit the perfect murder.

It has been adapted specifically for the Edinburgh Festival by writer- director Geoff Hunt. The play hopes to repeat the sell-out response it received in 2006 when it premiered at the Frome Festival.

Geoff Hunt said that the intention is to produce a festival “gem” to show what Frome talent can present and the world renowned arts festival.

Pip Utton will be performing his new one-man show, ‘Pip Utton: Playing Maggie, which offers the audience a chance to take part and ask questions of Margaret Thatcher.
