Frome in Bloom winners!

FROME in Bloom’s annual presentation evening was held last weekend, and organisers celebrated another year of high calibre entries.

Entrants from across the town saw trophies won in 27 categories, recognising the efforts of local residents, businesses and schools.

Frome in Bloom committee member Valerie Norvall said, “The quality of the entries this year was exceptional in all the classes. Special mention should be made of Selwood Academy garden and The George Hotel basket display in Frome Market Place, both were superb as were many more.

“The presentations are always a well attended event, and this year was no exception, and many people went away delighted with their trophies and certificates. The competition started over 35 years ago with about five trophies to be won which has now expanded to 28!

“The categories cover just about  every aspect of gardening and growing imaginable, from children’s gardens and sunflowers  to hanging baskets, allotments, shop windows, business premises, private gardens and many others. We hope that entries will come in thick and fast again next year when the competition is launched in May.”
