Call to Frome artists for Christmas exhibition

Frome Open Studios are celebrating Christmas by extending an invitation to all entrants to their 2015 event to submit work for an exhibition “Divas at Christmas”. This will be held in Divas Café, Black Swan Arts, Frome for the month of December.

The organisers say, “The display will run alongside other exciting and inspiring exhibitions and events planned by Black Swan Arts for December. The building will be transformed into a must-visit destination for your Christmas gift requirements, with a variety of fine ceramic and print work, along with a range of prices to suit all tastes. The main gallery and Round Tower will feature beautifully-themed Yuletide displays that will inspire and delight as well as providing the perfect solution for that elusive Christmas gift!

“There will also be a festive launch event at the start of December (date to be confirmed) which will hopefully encourage people to come down and browse, supported by marketing activity in local media and beyond, the Black Swan website and social media.

“The exhibition aims to generate funds towards FOS 2016 and importantly to raise awareness of this fantastic annual event.   Every year nearly 70 local artists take part in Frome Open Studios and we would like to keep its profile strong in people’s minds.

“All work needs to be in 2D format, so 3D artists may want to consider photographs of their work as a selling showcase.  This will be a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate a snapshot of just some of the breadth of talent in Frome, whilst at the same time encouraging people to visit during the main open studios event.  We are asking that work is priced below £200, the emphasis is very much on selling from a cafe space!

“Submission is open from 1st September 2015-1st November 2015 and will be curated by representatives from Frome Open Studios and Black Swan Arts.”
