Fundraising skydivers who raised £8,800
FIFTEEN brave volunteers raised a total of £8800 for Positive Action on Cancer by completing the ultimate challenge of a tandem skydive with GoSkydive, the UK’s premier tandem skydive specialist, on 19th September.
Marcus Bowman, Helen White, Bev Pearce, Rachel Mortimore, Ruth Knagg, Ros Wort, Marcus Lucus-Phillips, Wendy Lucus-Phillips, Vicky Stewart, Susie Gilson, Joanne Spring, Phil Mortimore, Ailsa Williams, Nicole Poole and Kirston Rae jumped from an altitude of [10,000ft/15,000]ft, reaching speeds of up to 125 mph in freefall for approximately [30/60] seconds, facing their fears and taking on the ultimate challenge for a worthy cause.
Positive Action on Cancer, based in Frome, provides emotional support to anyone affected by cancer or another life threatening illness across parts of Somerset, Wiltshire, Bath and BANES.
Hannah Culff, fundraising and communications manager from PAC said, “What an incredible experience and a fantastic way to raise a really substantial amount of money for a charity our size.
“We are so proud of all our jumpers and the amount of money raised really will make a significant difference to the lives of those affected by cancer in the local area.
“This was the second skydiving day the charity has organised this year and the two days have raised just over £17,000 which is enough to provide nearly 600 hours of counselling to those w ho really need it.”
