Councillor’s advice surgeries

LOCAL district and county councillor Linda Oliver will be holding advice surgeries inNovember and December.

Councillor Oliver will visit the Cheese & Grain Cafe on Tuesday 24th November from 2pm to 3.30pm, and Rode Post Office Cafe on Thursday 10th December from 2pm to 3.30pm.

She will be hoping to hear from local people about issues that affect them.

Cllr Oliver represents Frome North on Somerset County Council and Rode and Norton St Philip on Mendip District Council.

She said, “I pick up the majority  of local issues from the parish council meetings and from residents who are happy to contact me directly.

“I attend every meeting possible in my county and district areas. However, there are very few residents who attend the  meetings for a number of reasons.

“I felt that if I picked up locations in the villages in my area and in Frome, it would provide another opportunity for residents  to drop in and have a chance to speak to me in person to raise any concerns or questions they may have.

“I want to make sure I am accessible and in a more informal setting; not just seen to come out of the woodwork at election time.”
