NEW Year’s Eve is set to go off in style at Frome’s Silk Mill this year, with a masquerade ball, karaoke, and DJ sets playing guilty pleasures from years gone by.
Silk Mill studios at Merchants Barton will be hosting Wild Robot’s the ‘Guilty Pleasures’ ball from 7pm to 2am on Thursday 31st December.
Organiser Andy Jacobs said, “It’s definitely time to party like it’s 1999!
“DJs Lionel Richtea, Spam Bhok, George Weston, Muriel Lavender, DJ Duplo and DJ Seagod will be providing a musical journey from early originals to modern day pop.
“Expect all the tunes you heard in your parents’ car whilst driving to France for a family camping holiday; the best bits of Radio 2, stonkers off Absolute 80s and of course the 70s will be deeply delved into!
“On top of all this David Meowie will be host Bowieoke! So strap on your cod piece, put on your red shoes and dance the blues! There’s going to be plenty of belters to sing along to, so get practising in the shower!
“There’s lots more planned too. Lungi Babas and Music Food will be providing amazing street food – so make sure you arrive early to get those stomachs lined.
“There will also be a crafty area for those who turn up without a mask, fire pits, fireworks, visuals and of course a well-stocked bar!”
Tickets for the ball cost £10 per person and are available from Raves from the Grave on Cheap Street (01373 464666) or online at www.skiddle.com
