Teach your school to sing

Would you like to learn how to use ‘Sing Up’ within your classroom and get your class singing regularly?  Want to know how to access the fantastic singing  resources available online and navigate around the website?

Jackdaws Music Education Trust is coordinating a Singing Training afternoon for teachers, teaching assistants, supply teachers and volunteer staff, to be led by singing tutor, Kate Lynch.

The session will take place at Frome Library meeting room on Wednesday 20 January 2016 from 2pm-3.30pm and is suitable for anyone working with children in Key Stage One and Two.

Kate Lynch has been using Sing Up since it first appeared within the classroom and with choirs across Somerset.  Come and learn how you can get your class (and school) singing, support your curriculum and music teaching, whilst getting some tips on the best songs available. The training session is particularly suitable for those who lack confidence in leading singing themselves, but want to get their pupils singing more.

They will look at some of Kate’s favourite songs, spend some time exploring the resources available and also have a look at the Sing Up song for 2016 One in  Million to be performed across the country on National Sing Up Day (Feb 3rd) and then in leavers assemblies across the land.  And, if you’re not currently signed up to ‘Sing Up’ – this is a great way to be inspired!

Contact Jackdaws on 01373 812383, or email music@jackdaws.org for more information and to book your place, at the special rate of £10 per person.
