The Growing Frome Potato Day and Seed Swap will be held this year on Sunday 14th February, from 10.00am – 3.00pm at the Cheese and Grain, Market Yard, Frome; entry £2 donation.

Caroline Wajsblum, for Incredible Edible Frome, supported by Frome Town Council and Sustainable Frome, explains what will be offer. She said, “This incredible event is the best way to get your gardening year off to a good start!
“The perfect place to find your Valentines gifts and a great day out for the whole family!
“This year Pennard Plants will have a total of 87 varieties of potatoes available, including blight resistant, early, new and main crop.
“As well as potatoes they have six varieties of shallots, eight varieties of onion sets, four varieties of rhubarb, over 600 varieties of seeds, unusual tubers in Oca, Ulluco, Mashua and Chinese Artichokes plus loads more. If you don’t like veg they even have 11 varieties of Dahlias.
“There will also be heritage varieties, there will be organically and locally grown plants and seeds, many unusual and fun varieties, small quantity seed packets (ideal for the frugal gardener), spring bulbs, bee-friendly plants, to fill the garden with colour and beauty, and a wonderful range of meadow flowers suitable for any garden.
“Of course there is the Community-run Seed Swap so get your spare seeds and brown envelopes out! …And don’t forget all of the fantastic talks and workshops.
