WORK from three local artists has gone on display for spring at Frome’s Good Gallery on Stony Street.
Hannah Carding, Amber Chapman and Jenny Ford now have work on display at the gallery run by local counselling charity, We Hear You.
Hannah Carding lives in Frome and works as a freelance community artist and illustrator. Her time is spent mostly teaching art to adults with learning disability. Her artwork depicts all sorts of characters, and they include items with a quirky sense of humour to more poignant, quiet scenes of remembrance.
Hannah said, “I’m really delighted that any sales of my artwork will help contribute to such a great charity. My work as a community art tutor overlaps into the care sector which I love being a part of and I am so glad to amalgamate my own artwork with We Hear You, who give such wonderful support.”
Amber Chapman, also from Frome, creates intricate geometric mosaics, hand-cut from glass in sculptural forms. She is drawn to patterns, finding beauty in repetition and peace in the process.
Jenny Ford has a passion for printmaking; she lives in Dilton Marsh, where she produces prints and paintings inspired by walking on the downs and her interest in pre-historic sites.
Jenny said, “I am very pleased to be one of the featured artists at the gallery during April. It’s great to know that any commission on sales, goes to charity. Frome has always been a town that supports the arts and it’s good to know that art is helping to enable such good work.”
The Good Gallery wants to hear from anyone who would like to help run the gallery, particularly on Saturdays, and anyone who would like to display their art. To find out more about either opportunity contact Debbie Cripps on 01373 472404 or firstname.lastname@example.org
