Project Play is a new and exciting project arriving in areas across the south west in 2017 and the Merlin Theatre has been lucky enough to be chosen as one of the venues taking part.

The project offers enthusiasts an opportunity to be involved in a professional approach to staging a popular play that will attract a wide ranging audience. This time it is the hilarious comedy Vicar of Dibley.

The project is genuinely community based and as such it does not cost to be a part of and it also raises money for charity through its work. On-Stage roles will be obtained via an audition process, but the project also invites Directors, Stage Managers, Stage Crew, Costumiers, Assistants and basically anyone who would like to be involved in the project.

In short the project is a touring play that travels around various theatres in the South West. Everything technical involved in the production travels from venue to venue, and when it comes to your area, the cast and crew will be ready and waiting, in the form of the keen participants from your area who are taking part.

The process starts with an information session and read through on  – Sunday 7th May 6.30pm, auditions are on Sunday 23rd July and performances will be 24th – 26th February. So if you fancy acting, back stage or any other involvement come along on Sunday at the Merlin.
