Healing magazine relocates to Frome

Caduceus magazine, which has focused on health, healing and spirituality since its launch 30 years ago, has just relocated to Frome.

Editor/owner and medical journalist, Simon Best, decided to move to the town after selling up in Midhurst, West Sussex, where he edited the magazine for 10 years.

“I grew up in Yeovil where my father was a GP most of his life so it’s a bit like returning home after all these years,” he said, “having lived in both Canada and New Zealand for a while over the past 40 years.

“The magazine was started in 1987 by acupuncturist, Sarida Brown, in Leamington Spa and I took it over in 2006 when she wanted to focus on other activities. I’d written for it for a number of years, so it so it seemed the right decision to take it on when she decided to sell up.”

Simon’s main health interest has been the hazards of electromagnetic fields, Wifi, microwaves, etc, and he co-authored ‘Electromagnetic Man – Health and hazard in the electrical environment,’ with biophysicist Dr Cyril Smith at Salford University, published by JM Dent in 1989, which won the Book of the Year award by the then Journal of Alternative Medicine.

“Besides a wide range of health issues, the current and recent issues have focused on the ongoing debate over the true authorship of Shakespeare’s plays, which many feel points strongly to Sir Francis Bacon and his Rosicrucian colleagues,” Simon said. ‘More revelations are promised this very year!”
