Friday the 13th date for entertainment poet Elvis at The Granary

FRIDAY 13th will be lucky for Frome this October, as one of the biggest names in entertainment poetry is performing that night at the Granary.

Crysse Morrison from Frome Poetry Cafe said, “Elvis McGonagall, popular “standup poet, armchair revolutionary and World Slam Champion” will be showing why he’s collected rave reviews all around the country and been likened to John Cooper Clarke.

“Elvis was featured at the Edinburgh Book Festival, and has a busy autumn with  bookings from Leeds to Cheltenham, so this is a rare chance to hear him live.

“Described as  “punchy, intelligent, often hysterically funny – a tour de force”, Elvis was described in The Guardian as “a bracing throwback to the days when comedy made room for militant eccentrics with a knack for scansion and a bolshie hankering to change the world.”

“You can see more about Elvis and read more reviews here: www.elvismc and hear his quirky take on life in “Elvis McGonagall Takes a Look on the Bright Side” (BBC radio Thursdays 11.15pm) This event is promoted by Frome Poetry Cafe.

“If you like humour that’s political, and satire that’s side-splittingly funny, make sure you don’t miss this. 8-11 pm,  £5 on the door.”
