Submarine Comedy’s Legendary Christmas Do

SUBMARINE Comedy is pleased to announce one final comedy event for 2017, its legendary Christmas comedy event on Wednesday 20th December, at the Granary at the George Hotel, Frome.

There is a huge host of acts lined up to ease you in to the busy festive days following with some award-winning comedians.

The evening will begin with the opening act of Cery Nelmes. She is a comedian, TV warm-up artist, actress and presenter. Known as the Cotswolds‘ finest, she is coming to Frome to shake things upwith her award-winning comedy.

The middle acts featured are Roger Swift and Richard James. Roger Swift is a must-see act, a bonkers, energetic prop-meister and pun-merchant based in Telford, Shropshire. His act is a very unique one, compared to a speeded up contemporary Tommy Cooper.

Richard James is a Bristol-based comic who has performed across the UK on pro-bills alongside the great and the good, from festivals to corporate functions, to theatres and little pubs and also venturing across the pond to the USA. Along with a fondness for the absurd and the wayward details of life, Richard is an unshamed nerd for history and science fictions. The material he uses stretches from topical humour to bizarre family stories to films and history.

The headliner this year is Susan Murray, a hardworking women who has emerged as one of the best female stand-ups in the UK. She has been reviewed by many different people including The Guardian, “Anyone who loves the work of Sarah Millican and Kerry Godliman will find plenty to enjoy here” and even Al Murray, the pub landlord saying, “Cynicism that could fell a rhino at 1,000 paces. Like it.”

The whole evening will be compered by resident MC, Sally Anne Hayward. A welcome return to Submarine Comedy, she combines the things you shouldn’t like about your best friend’s mum with the sensibilities of Jack the Ripper and it all went down a storm on her last visit.

Sally is an accomplished radio presenter with stage and TV acting credentials. She’s a regular compere at Glastonbury Festival and a keenly-anticipated turn on the UK comedy circuit.

The doors open at 7.30pm for a 8.15pm start. Tickets are £8 in advance from the Cheese and Grain box office or £10 on the door. For more information please visit Submarine comedy club on Facebook.
