Jethro, Abba tribute, The Searchers and Circus of Horrors coming to the Memorial

THE Memorial Theatre lineup is jam-packed with music and entertainment for the coming months.

Friday 2nd February  7.30pm Jethro – The Bull and Bonkers Tour.

Saturday 10th February  – 7.30pm ABBA Forever – In Concert.

ABBA Forever is one of the UK’s leading international tribute shows and theatre audiences from across Great Britain and Sweden have long enjoyed this superb recreation of possibly the world’s greatest pop band.

The unique ABBA sound is replicated with an incredible attention to detail, using a six-piece band featuring electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards and piano, drums and bass guitar. Two outstanding ABBA girls complete the line-up, adding the essential glitz and glamour to a well-polished and gently humorous show.

The wonderful lyrics penned by Benny and Bjorn are sung in wonderful harmony by all six performers on stage. Dynamic non-stop choreography, stunning visuals, top class musicianship and an all live performance ensures that the ABBA Forever show captivates audiences from the opening refrain to the final sing-along chorus of this two-hour spectacular.

The Searchers’ remarkable career continues. With such classic hits as, Sweets For My Sweet; Needles and Pins; Don’t Throw Your Love Away; Sugar and Spice and When You Walk In The Room, they have contributed enormously in establishing the UK as the world’s leading nation in the music industry. There is no doubt that the decade that gave us The Beatles as well as The Searchers and many others was very special and will go down in history as being the most imaginative period of music creativity and expression.

With total record sales in excess of 50 million, The Searchers still have great appeal to audiences of all ages. They tour the globe as much today as they have done throughout a fantastic career spanning five decades.

Their special ‘solo’ concert is a highly entertaining show and has been enthusiastically and warmly received throughout the world. Combined with anecdotes and reminiscences, this fully self-contained concert includes all their famous hits, plus many album recordings, B-sides and a selection of other collector and well-known favourites.

After taking to the road over 22 years ago and touring all over the world, the phenomenon returns with its latest brand new incarnation “Voodoo”.

The spectacular features an amazing amalgamation of bizarre and fantastic circus acts all woven into a sensational shock/horror story and the darkest of magic – taking the show to a whole new level. It’s driven by a mainly original soundscape and performed with a forked tongue firmly in each cheek, you’ll certainly die laughing.
