Christmas raffle tradition to raise money for charity kept alive by Sassy hair salon

SASSY hair salon in Frome held a Christmas raffle last year, raising £710, with proceeds going to a charity of the winners choice.

Sassy’s was originally known as Jane’s Hair Salon, run by hairdresser Jane Wilson who started the Christmas raffle 21 years ago, to help raise money for charity. After her sad passing last year, daughters Vicky and Allie Hart revamped the salon and still continued the traditional Christmas raffle.

This year the raffle raised £710 and was won by Pam Dixon. She chose to split the money between two organisations, Dorothy House and Frome Canoe Club which Pam runs. Vicky Hart presented Pam with the cheque for the canoe club last week and will pass on the remaining proceeds to Dorothy House.

The raffle prizes were donated by the customers of Sassy.
