Friendship club celebrates St George’s Day

Frome and District Friendship Club had cause for a double celebration last month when news of the birth of the royal baby was announced during their St George’s Day celebrations.

The club reports, “A lovely roast lamb lunch was enjoyed by our club members celebrating St. George’s Day. During our lunch we were informed that the royal baby had been born and was a boy, so we had another event to celebrate.

“There were around 85 members enjoying our delicious food, prepared and cooked by our wonderful chef and his superb kitchen and waiting staff.

“Many members stayed on to play our regular Monday, most popular, post-lunch Bingo session (thanks to you Lyn) whilst others went into the art room for their regular art class (thanks to you Margaret).

“We are a friendly and happy bunch of folk, and we have days out, fun outings, holidays, great food and lots more.

“All who work here in the main hall to keep things chugging along are volunteers. We have a superb committee, who were voted on for a second duration during our A.G.M. last year. Come along and test the waters,  You don’t need to join until you have tried us for a third week. You will find us at Frome Football Club venue (there is parking).”
