Did you witness GBH in Asda car park?

POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following a GBH in Frome.

A 47-year-old man was attacked in the car park of Asda on Warminster Road by a man believed to be in his early 20s. The incident happened sometime between 2.30pm and 2.50pm on Saturday (12/5).

The two men had a verbal disagreement over a parking space which led to the offender scratching the victim’s vehicle. The victim then took a photo of the younger man’s car registration who in response dragged him to the floor and began physically assaulting him.

PC Declan Quinn said, “This was an incredibly violent incident which escalated rapidly.

“Once the victim had been pulled to the floor his attacker then started punching him in the head and even banged his head against the concrete.

“Thankfully, the man only suffered cuts and grazes to his head although he did suffer a broken hand.

“Astonishingly, after the assault, the offender simply walked away, stamping on the victim’s phone in the process.

“Did you witness the incident? Do you have any information which could assist our inquiry?

“If you can help, please call us on 101, providing the call handler with the reference 5218102962.”
