Frome Local to Global: ADD International’s Summer Funday

This July, disability rights charity, ADD International, is teaming up with three familiar Froomie faces for a Summer Funday at the Silk Mill.

Peter Macfadyen, former Mayor of Frome and ADD founder, Barbara Frost, former CEO of both ADD and WaterAid and long-time Frome resident, as well as local entrepreneur Gavin Eddy, will be co-hosting the Funday, as part of the charity’s wider ‘From(e) Local to Global’ initiative.

Since being founded in Frome over 30 years ago, the people of Frome have been instrumental in supporting ADD International’s work to empower disabled people around the world to claim their rights. The ‘From(e) Local to Global’ initiative aims to remind people and celebrate ADD International’s heritage in the town, and to work with other local disability organisations to bring more attention to the need to promote disability inclusion and “leave no-one behind”, both in Frome and internationally.

People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to come along to the Funday on Wednesday 18th July from 3pm-6pm for an afternoon of tea and cakes, face painting, games, arts and crafts, a film screening and photo exhibition. The event is free and any donations made on the day will support disability activists in Bangladesh who are campaigning for equality.
