Summer family fun from the Children’s Festival

Frome Children’s Festival has a fun-packed line-up of family activities during the summer holidays. With something for the family nearly every day you will be spoilt for choice! Their programme includes fimo modelling, crafts, cardboard city, cooking, sports, singing, science – the list goes on!

Organiser Lenka Grimes said, “We’ve been working hard to bring local families lots of great activities to keep them busy over the long summer holiday. All the activities are open to anyone and some are specifically designed to be accessible to children with additional needs. We have kept them very low cost to attend and are using various venues across town, so at least once a week there should be one close to you.

“We are very excited to have paired up with Fair Frome who will be offering  hot lunches after some of the activities (free for families in receipt of free school meals), keeping your hungry children well fed! These sessions will happen on Wednesdays at The Key Centre, Thursdays at Trinity Church hall and Fridays at the football club including two outdoor play days in local parks. Our family activities include the Toy Library on Tuesdays and Monday craft sessions at the Cheese and Grain.’

The Children’s Festival summer activities have been funded by Knightstone housing association, the Postcode Community Trust and Somerset County Council disabilities team. Fair Frome has received sponsorship from Bistro Lotte for the lunches.
