Famous faces at this year’s Comic Con

GET ready for Frome’s third consecutive Comic Con, which will be held on Sunday 12th August, featuring famous faces from TV and film, walkabout characters, trade stands and exhibitors.
Each year’s event has grown in popularity and this year will see lots more to see and do across the day, with events taking place at the Cheese and Grain, Frome Library and throughout the town.
Traders and exhibitors will be at the Cheese and Grain between 10am and 4pm, including Podpadstudios with their realistic cars and vehicles from the movies, as well as other motor cars, a Tardis and walkabout characters with lots of photo opportunities.
There will also be guest appearances from actors including Samantha Womack (EastEnders, Game on, The Kingsmen), David Warner (Tron, A Christmas Carol, Titanic), Julian Glover (Indiana Jones, Game of Thrones, James Bond), Fenella Fielding (Carry On films), Lisa Bowerman (Dr Who), and Alan Harris (Star Wars). You will get the chance to meet them and get an autograph (extra charges apply).
Entertainment will be on the stage throughout the day, as well as interviews with the guests. There is also Frome Escape Rooms, ‘No Cape Required’ – DDP Yoga and Pikture-it green screen amongst much more.
Entry is £5 per person on the door, with under 5s going free.
Also on Sunday 12th August at Frome Library you will find artists and writers holding talks throughout the day including ‘Disconnected Press’ and Cole Henley. The South West Colonial Marines are there to raise money for ‘Help for Heroes’ as well as face painters.
Cordero Lounge, The Riverhouse Cafe, 23 Bath Street, The South Parade Club, Ellenbray and The Sun Inn are all also getting involved in the fun.
The main information hub for the day is The Round Tower at Black Swan Arts where you can get information, maps, brochures and tickets for side events.
In the evening, Fenella Fielding will be at The Granary at 7pm, with admission of £10. You can hear her speak about her life and ask questions. Limited tickets are available.
