COME and enjoy two hours of fun and laughter with singing, dancing and comedy at The Woodlanders Music Hall.

From Monday 8th October, to Saturday 13th October The Woodlanders Music Hall near Longleat are giving you entertainment as it used to be!

The show starts at 7.45pm. Tickets are £10 and a cash bar is available. You can purchase tickets from the box office on 01373 463634. For more information visit their website on www.thewoodlanders.org.uk

For 40 years, The Woodlanders have successfully staged variety shows which have raised over £120,000 for charity. For this year’s show, which will take place next month, they have announced a new-look format.

Sandra Gaisford,  chair of The Woodlanders explained, “At the  end of their brilliantly successful 40th anniversary season last October, The Woodlanders were forced to accept the fact that their incomparable chairman/master of ceremonies, had finally hung up his gavel for the very last time.

“David Millard presided over 40 years of Woodlanders’ shows and his knowledge of the local community and the Woodlanders’ audiences, together with his wit and entertaining turn of phrase made him second to none in the role.

“It was very unlikely we could find a worthy successor so we decided to be brave and not to have a designated MC at all. This will also have the effect of modernising the format.

“The team are busy putting the show together with lots of new material and sketches, many songs which will be familiar, some that people will have forgotten (or think they have forgotten!) and lots of opportunities for the audience to participate and join in the fun.  It is a true variety show.

“One regular visitor to the show told me the other day that she looks forward to it every year because she knows she will have a “really good belly laugh”! We know lots of our audience feel that way too.

“We look forward to welcoming old friends to the show at East Woodlands Village Hall and hope that people who haven’t experienced a Woodlanders show before will give us a try!”

Over the 40 years The Woodlanders have raised over £120,000, which has been donated to local charities and good causes.  Following the 2017 show, the sum of £3,500 was distributed in various amounts to SODA, Mendip Community Transport, Wessex Counselling Service, Mencap, Kids Out, Friends of Dorothy House, St Katherine’s Church and East Woodlands Village Hall.
