Frome AF Patient Support Group Meeting

A support group for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) is meeting in Frome on 28th January

Arrhythmias (heart rhythm disorders) affect over two million people in the UK and atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia. People aged 40 and over have a one in four lifetime risk of developing AF and an increased risk of a life threatening AF-related stroke – the most severe type of stroke.

Facilitated by Helen Hodgson, a cardiac physiologist from the Royal United Hospital in Bath, the Frome AF Support Group will offer information about cholesterol  as well as the opportunity to meet other patients and carers and share experiences.

The meeting will take place at Frome Medical Practice, Enos Way, Frome,  BA11 2FH.

Helen Hodgson says “People diagnosed with AF often have many questions. My aim is to help provide them with the knowledge they need to support each other through their own experiences.”

Booking is not essential but if you would like to know more or book a place please contact – Helen on 01225 821530 or helen.hodgson3 @nhs.net ; Charlene Payne on 01789 867 533 or email c.payne@ heartrhythmalliance.org.
