Hunting Raven – Isabella Tree event

Award-winning author Isabella Tree is coming to Frome on Saturday 6th April to talk about her bestselling book Wilding.

The book tells the amazing story of the daring wildlife experiment she and her conservationist husband Sir Charles Burrell undertook in restoring Knepp Estate in West Sussex to the wild.

Forced to accept that intensive farming on the heavy Sussex clay was economically ruinous, they decided to step back and let nature take over. In less than 20 years, wildlife has rocketed and numerous endangered species have made Knepp their home.

The Knepp experience challenges conventional ideas about our past and present landscape, and points the way to a wilder, richer future-countryside that benefits farming, nature and us. Aside from her book, Isabella may be familiar to some for the insightful articles she has written for the Guardian and for her contributions to a number of programmes on BBC Radio 4.

Hunting Raven manager, Tina Gaisford-Waller said, “I first met Isabella at last year’s Tree Conference held in Frome, and I was so spellbound watching her talk that I just knew we had to invite her back for an event with Hunting Raven. I am so pleased she has agreed to come and expect the event to sell out fast.”

The event will be held at the Hubnub Centre on Whittox Lane, Saturday 6th April at 3pm. Tickets are £7 and can be purchased or reserved by calling 01373 473111, emailing winstonebooks3@ gmail.com, by popping into Hunting Raven Books (Cheap Street, Frome), or directly online via www.bit.ly/IsabellaTree
