Story posted on

Local cat welfare charity Cats In Distress will be celebrating its third birthday with its annual Open Day on Saturday 18th May 11.00am – 4.00pm.

The charity is run entirely by a team of trustees and volunteers and based in Berkley, Frome.      They say, “We generally operate in Frome, Bath, Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Westbury, Warminster, although our policy to help any cat, if we can, has meant they we have helped over 350 cats from across the South West region. We rescue, care for, and rehome cats and kittens, whether domestic, stray, injured, abandoned or feral. We currently have 20 cats and kittens, who are in different stages of rehoming.

“The Open Day will be a fun family event. The team from Hidden Woods, the award-winning activity centre will be providing fun outdoor activities, Frome’s very own Paul Kirtley & friends will be providing live music, with songs to please everyone and a specially written song dedicated to the charity.

“There will be lots of tea and cakes, barbecue, licensed bar, face painting, children’s games and Diane from The Bee Depot will be showing us why bees are so important. Happiness Beauty Room are joining us again to provide a much-needed relaxation zone if you just want to relax and enjoy the proceedings. The local Rural Community Police will also be joining us and showing off their Kuga, not cougar!

“Disabled parking will be on site, with normal parking signposted.”
