Edmund Park is getting it together

Story posted on

Residents of the emerging Edmund Park estate (southeast in Frome and east of the river) are moving on with establishing their community.

They report, “On Saturday 27th April a group of us residents, strongly supported by our local Asda store, carried out a litter pick. It was a windy day indeed, as storm Hannah eased, but the rain had stopped and the mood was good.

“The first job was to clear the ‘layby’ on the estate side of Rodden Brook; this recess is annoyingly used on a regular basis for fly tipping and heavier items had to be carried to get them to the Asda store recycling area.

“The group then moved up the hill and across the higher open spaces that look down and across to Wallbridge. After about 90 minutes we’d collected 12 bags of litter and deposited them at the Asda recycling area – again, many thanks to Asda for their strong community spirit and for managing what was collected.

“The land for the Edmund Park estate was purchased in 2015 and we believe the building of the houses is likely to be completed at the end of this year – somewhere in the region of 450 buildings. To help bring this sizeable community together and link with the established town of Frome, a newsletter has been created and is distributed by email – two monthly issues so far and a third on its way. For any residents who’ve not seen the newsletters please email edmund.park.frome@out look.com. An associated website, which focusses on Edmund Park, is developing and a link at the top of the home page explains how it all started. www. edmundparkfrome.com
